As I Heal…

As I posted earlier, I am on the mend from an injury that occurred on December 6th. While decorating my Christmas tree, I made the mistake of standing on a chair to reach the top of the tree. The chair ended up going one way while I went the other…resulting in stress fractures of both my femur and tibia (leg bones) and tearing my ACL. Not fun for sure. What is most frustrating is the fact that there is very little that I can do for myself. I’m on crutches, which of course ties up my hands. I can only use one leg. I can’t drive, take a walk or even shower on my own. Blech.

I am however going to start a project that I wanted to do when the New Year came along. I wanted to do a 365 Life Photo Project. Which means, I’d like to take a picture of something going on in my life every day of the year. It may be mundane, it may be exciting…but it will be mine.

So today, I’m going to start that project. I’m pretty sure that the first few weeks will be photos of the mundane, seeing as how I can’t do much, but I’m hoping to be more mobile in less that two weeks, so we’ll see!

To start the project, I’ve taken a photo of my daughter’s new dwarf rabbit “Maddie”. She really is a great bunny. She’s social, active and energetic. Lots of fun to have around! Maddie will be attending college with our daughter at the end of the month, so not only will she have the looks, but she’ll have the brains as well. 🙂

Everyone…meet Maddie:

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.

Sorry to hear about crutches–they’re the worst. Here’s hoping you’re up and about sooner rather than later!
