Happy Halloween everyone! We have been so busy with Hurricane Sandy here that all else was put on the back burner. Luckily, we got through without any major issues, but my heart just breaks for those that suffered from that awful storm!
Before Halloween is over, I wanted to share with you a craft project that my mother put together for a banquet last week. She used these wonderful pumpkins as table centerpieces and got rave reviews. They were so simple to make, but made such a statement.
She took thrift store pumpkins (styrofoam and cardboard) and simply attached Halloween napkins and/or plain colored napkins to the pumpkins with decoupage. A cardboard witch’s hat was applied to the top with hot glue, with plastic Autumn leaves on the bottom. She then adorned the hats with plastic seasonal flowers. The pumpkin with a face was made with smaller flowers and cupcake liners cut in the shape of a smiling mouth.
They really were fabulous. I’m thinking that with all of the Halloween items going on sale this week, it would be a great idea to grab some of these items on clearance, making them even cheaper to create!
Here’s hoping your day is filled with nothing but treats and no tricks!
These are super-cute, really creative! 🙂
She certainly comes up with some good ideas! Thanks!
VERY clever. And I hear you on hurricane occupation. I’ve been consumed preparing, enduring, and remembering how to live without (or with very limited power). I am grateful that we are safe, particularly in light of the wretched conditions so many others are facing. It is always a bit of a reality check to even be brushed by these things.
So glad to hear you made it through the storm!
