A Small Town Halloween Parade

Hi everyone! Last night, our small town held it’s annual Halloween parade and let me tell you, it was wonderful! It lasted well over an hour and had entries from all ages. Children scrambled for candy that was being thrown from floats, scary masks glowed in the night and marching bands could be heard from each side of town.

I thought I’d share some of the pictures I took of our parade. It is one of the few things that are left in our fading community and it was fabulous to see so many residents in attendance.

The children stole the show as far as I’m concerned. They were dressed in their finest Halloween garb and some even hammed it up for the camera. Some not so much. 🙂

The floats were phenomenal and you could see them coming from the other end of the street.

Some of the groups supported a cause, some came to put on a show.

While the children watched on the sidelines, they played with newly purchased light-up sabers, donned sparkly bat antennae and put on a show of their own.

You gotta love small town parades.

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
