Take Some Time For Yourself

No matter who you are, what you do for a living, how many obligations you have or how short the days may seem…you must take time for you. If you don’t, you won’t be able to do well at your job, fulfill those obligations or enjoy even the shortest of days.

Last night, a friend and I took a bit of time and walked some paths at a local park area. We initially went looking for photo opportunities. Before we knew it, we found ourselves sitting about twenty yards away from each other, on the shore of the lake, staring into the water and tossing rocks.

By the time we realized how much time had passed, we also realized that we hadn’t been that stress free for quite a while.

We enjoyed the changing sky, the occasional jumping fish, the crisp air…but mostly the sound of quiet. The only thing you could hear was the plop of the rocks into the water and the breeze rustling through the leaves.

We vowed to return. Often. We will take time to enjoy the smallest of things.

Take care of you. Find what calms you. Visit that calming place often. A peaceful soul equals a happy you. A happy you equals a happy life. Now go…have a happy life.

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.

You are so right VickI! I am that way when and I and I look forward to my daily Bible readings — no music, no TV, just sitting silently and taking it all in!

  2. Every night, once our kids are in bed, we (husband and I) sit, have a coffee together and read or watch a favourite tv show. It’s our decompression time together.

  3. Love that photo of the Daddy Long Legs!
