A Morning Walk

Last night, I drove to my mom’s cottage to spend some girl time while hubby’s away. We snacked on shoo fly cake while we watched the Olympics and caught up on each other’s lives. This morning, while Mom was still snoozing, I took a nice brisk walk along the river.

Mom’s cottage is located along the Susquehanna River. It actually sits on a small island that is semi-attached to a college town. The island has an aura of its own. It is quiet, beautiful and the perfect spot for brisk walks or bike rides.

I watched the lighting change on the water, said hello to other walkers, was investigated by a cow and totally enjoyed the serenity of the area. It’s mornings like these that start your day off just right.

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
