Brilliant Space Saver Idea

I saw this idea floating around Pinterest and I just had to try it. This time of year, I have all sorts of canning jars and other small items inside my refrigerator that are hard to keep track of. The smaller jars fit best on one of the lower shelves, so they end up out of sight and sometimes pushed to the back until they die a slow and moldy death.

While shopping with my daughter over the weekend, I purposely sought out a lazy susan to give this a try. I am so very glad I did! It works fabulously. My homemade (or preserved) foods are right there for me to see without searching. The lower and shorter shelves are now exclusively reserved for eggs, breads, leftovers and packages of meats. There’s even room behind the lazy susan for lesser used items like my preserved lemons and larger bottles of flavored vinegars. Just one more small corner of my world that is more organized and efficient. Yay!

P.S. I apologize for the lack of posts, but my weekend was filled with a birthday celebration, a nature festival (pics to come) and a two-day adventure in helping my daughter move to her new apartment. One day, I will catch up. 🙂

Find this and other fun projects at some linky parties!

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
