Rain Delay

Last night, my friend and I headed out for a long overdue photo outing. As we were driving out of town, the radio started sounding the emergency tones and warnings of severe thunderstorms came across the car speakers. Initially, we tried to stay ahead of the storm, but apparently, it was not obeying the speed limit and soon caught up with us.

As we entered a nearby town, we stopped to take a peek at the approaching clouds. The winds started whipping around us and the sky grew darker with each passing second.

We learned that there were tornado warnings in the area and debated on what our next course of action was going to be. We decided to stay in the neighboring town and took refuge in a restaurant. And there we sat. And sat. So I tried to make art out of us sitting. 🙂

Luckily, the storm was not as severe in that area as it had been in others. Unluckily, the rain lasted long enough to wash out our plans of a photo shoot. It was quite nice to hang out with my friend over milkshakes and pierogies while we watched others hustle into the restaurant to escape the storm. But we’ve been short on shoots and I miss them. Hopefully, we’ll head out in that direction again soon. Minus the torrential downpour.

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
