The Magical Love Note

Let me first say, that this is not my original idea and I take zero credit. I first saw this floating around Pinterest and tracked it down to a post made over at Stars & Sunshine. You can see the original post here.

Well, I just thought it was the cutest thing ever, but debated on whether or not I was going to do it. You see, the only lunch I pack is for my husband. Who is a probation officer. And eats his lunch with his other probation officer buddies. Well, today I thought “what the heck” and did it. I delicately drew a small heart with the tip of a knife, making sure not to break through the skin. I also made it small enough and even rough enough that if noted by the others, he may be able to play if off as accidental.

In the morning…you can barely see it, and would have to be looking for it to notice. By the afternoon, loud and clear. Luckily, he loved it and texted me as soon as he saw it. *Whew* That could have been brutal to his image. 🙂

And here’s my photo challenge submission for the day. The subject was “Books”. These two books will never ever leave my possession. The first is a bible that belonged to my mother and the second I just found at the family farm over the weekend. It is a book of daily prayers, belonging to generations long gone. But inside, I found two newspaper clippings. One of my grandfather and one of my father. It was like I found a hidden treasure. Well, really I did.

Anyone notice that I can’t stop using the collage feature on the photo editor? hahahaha

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.

  1. I’ve done the banana thing for my kid’s lunches too, after seeing it on Pinterest. I love that you got a text when he saw it.
