A Yard Sale Day

Today a friend and I spent the entire morning touring a community yard sale. That means that there were many individual yard sales within one town. It was the perfect weather for yard sale shopping and we had a great time. Here are some pictures of our day:

And a few of my treasures:

Can you believe I got a cooler for fifty cents? And those wooden figurines? One is a bottle opener, the other a corkscrew and they have…get this…salt and pepper shakers in the heads. I know! Pretty sure they’re my favorite find of the day. Especially for a quarter.  So much fun!

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.

  1. Funny, my heart rate went up, I swear, when I saw your pics. I love community yard sales!

  2. I live in the city and you would think you would find some good stuff scouring stoop sales. Unfortunately, it seems to be mostly junk. :-/

    • Oh, that is terrible! I think about yard sale season all winter! hahaha I am always able to find some lovely and/or useful things. We have quite a few community yard sales coming up and I can’t wait!
