May De-Clutter Challenge ~ A Few Days Rolled Into One

As I’m going about my De-Clutter Challenge, I am finding it easier and easier to consolidate organizational projects. One of my main problems was in the kitchen. My kitchen tends to be a work area, a cooking area, a dressing room and a storage area all rolled into one. I do a lot of my work at the kitchen table rather than my desk. I don’t know why. I like the view. I can see all areas of the downstairs and I can get to the refrigerator in five steps. It’s the perfect seat.

My husband, who is a probation officer, likes to come home and “de-gear” in the kitchen. He empties his pockets there, takes off his duty belt, boots, jacket and anything else he may be carrying and plops them on any clean space there may be. I have my coupon paraphernalia there and we charge our phones on the tabletop as well.

With that said, in the last few days I have created a “station” in one corner of my kitchen. It has a place for my coupon items, everyday files, car keys and even our cell phone charger. Better yet, having the “station” clears up my big ol’ kitchen table again!

The area is accessible, semi-attractive and most importantly…it makes sense to me. So now I have a place to put the items that I use daily. And in turn, I conquered days 13, 14, 15 and 16 with one project. Kudos to me! Now I just have to brace myself because laundry room day is a biggie coming up for me. :-/

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
