May De-Clutter Challenge ~ Day 2

Today’s subject for the De-Clutter challenge is “Coat Closet”. I don’t know what I was thinking when I agreed to take my mother on a shopping day the same day that I scheduled coat closet. The two did not mix. I will not have enough time to finish cleaning out the coat closet. So that means I will be doubling up tomorrow and finishing the coat closet and cleaning our hallway. That will work. We only have one hallway and it’s empty. That means I will only need to clean the floors and wipe down the walls.

The bad news is I only semi-succeeded in getting the closet done (at least it’s started). The good news is I had a great day shopping with my mom and was able to have lunch with a dear friend that I haven’t seen in months. More good news: hit two thrift stores on Family Day. Yep, 50% off! Oh yeah, baby!

So tomorrow I will post pictures of my closet and/or my hallway. Until then, I hope those that are participating are doing well tackling that dreaded closet!

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.

Forgive me, please! My intentions were good, and I even had a plan. Then Hubby said “We need to go to Current River.”
He was so right on that. I don’t get to go there as often as I would like. For me it is “God’s perfect spot”, I am renewed and replenished after some time spent there, he fished, and I soaked up the tranquility and peace.
At least I am energized so I will tackle that awful coat rack tomorrow and get the day 3 challenge too! It all falls together, the coat rack is IN the hallway! 🙂

  2. We are in the same boat then! hahahahaha We spent time with our families. That always comes first! Our renewed selves will be harder workers tomorrow. 🙂

YES! and I can report that as of 20 minutes after 9 AM, May 3, 2012, the dreaded coat rack and hallway have succumbed to my fervor and are now ‘fit to be seen’! Yay!
yes, there are jackets swimming in the washer to be stashed in the guest room closet, but they will be put away and out of sight! The box of campiong gear has moved to the shed and much other clutter found its way to the trash.
      Thanks for these two challenges!

  3. I need to do this too. Not sure I could commit to doing something every day, but I really should try. Maybe on my summer holidays.
