Photo-A-Day Challenge ~ Flower

Flowers. Who doesn’t love flowers? At our farm, we have many kinds of flowers, most of which are now wild. We also plant some each year, but I really enjoy exploring the property to see which flowers are popping up on their own each year.

I have many pictures of the flowers at the farm. You will not see any of them today. I’ve decided to post one of my favorite “flower” pictures instead. Last year, we started letting some of the vegetables go to seed as a growing experiment. As I’ve stated before, the more self-sustainable we are, the better. Anyway, this is a picture of an onion flowering and getting ready to go to seed.

I love this picture. It not only shows the beautiful side to something as ordinary as an onion, but it also represents a stage in one of nature’s life cycles. I know, I may be amused by the simple things, but let’s face it. Nature rocks.

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
