March Foodie Photo-A-Day Challenge ~ Recipe

Today’s challenge subject is “recipe”, so I thought I’d take a picture of one of my prized possessions. A recipe given to me by my mother-in-law. It is the only one that she has ever given to me and it’s in her own handwriting. When she learned that I enjoyed vintage recipe boxes, she gave me one that belonged to her and inside was this sole recipe for Caramel Icing. I can imagine the card propped up in my mother-in-law’s kitchen, splattering caramel onto the card while she worked hard to create a wonderful dessert for her family. I love this card.

And that wraps up my participation in the March Foodie Photo-A-Day Challenge sponsored by The Purple Carrot. I’m very proud of myself that I didn’t miss a day! I’m looking at some more photo challenges for next month, but I’m not sure which one I’m going to go with yet. Maybe I’ll choose two?

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
