The Pallet Princesses

A little while ago, a few members of our coupon swap decided to band together and attempt to make wonderful things from wooden pallets. We were all bit by the Pinterest bug and had the desire to join creative forces. We even made a name for our group “The Pallet Princesses” (P Squared for short). Yeah, we’re dorky but we sure do have fun!

The first meeting of P Squared officially commenced today. Now, let me tell you. We have never used power tools, nor have we ever built anything. Well look at us now!

That’s right! We were sawing and drilling and hammering and learning all sorts of carpentry skills. I’m pretty sure we can join the union now.

I was excited to use my new mallet (the one I bought yesterday), but my husband wouldn’t stop touching it! He kept telling me that he loved my mallet and wished he had one. When I opened my tool kit this afternoon…this is what I found!

Noel happens to be my husband’s name. He is such a little you-know-what, but he sure does makes me laugh. 🙂 After all was said and done, we ended up with two different kinds of planters and one half-finished coffee table. I ended up with a picture of only one planter…I’ll get the other one another time and show you. Not bad for a few hours work.

The only problem for next time…we have to label our tools. There happens to be more than one of us with a pink tool set. P Squared pretty much rocks! Yay us!

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
