March Foodie Photo-A-Day Challenge ~ Can’t Live Without

There are so many things I could have taken a picture of for this subject! “Can’t Live Without”. Let’s see…cheese, my favorite spoon (I know, but it kinda matches my favorite fork), my spice cupboard, my chest freezer….just so many! I then sat and thought about it this way. What would make my life a tad more difficult if I did NOT have it. I narrowed it down to two items.

I have a small set of funky orange pans that my mother gave to me. They are the absolute perfect size for an individual egg, a small serving of sauteed mushrooms or even the perfect omelet. I use them often for those “side” dishes or if I have to melt some butter for popcorn. Notice I said if I HAVE to. There really is no choice when it comes to popcorn. To not butter is to sin.

But those pans would be useless without my perfect spatula. I picked it up at a flea market about eight years ago and I freak out if I can’t find it when I need it. It is long, flexible and almost paper thin. This baby can scoot under the thinnest of potato cakes, over-easy eggs or french toast with pure ease. I mean, look at it. It’s covered with cut-out hearts! It was meant to be loved!

About finefrugality

I am a wife, mother, business owner, farmer, foster parent, retired probation officer and so much more. :-) I love to save money any way I can. I just don’t see the sense in handing my cash over to someone else when I don’t have to. I coupon, I grow and can food, I reuse and repurpose items, I scour thrift stores and during the warmer months, my Saturday mornings consist of yard sales and our local farmer’s market with my husband. I have organized local meetings which include coupon swaps, barter clubs and swap meets. Here is where I begin to share this life with the rest of the world. This is Fine Frugality. Because being frugal is not only fine. It is FINE.
